Yawn, enough with the Born Again Christian stuff tearinmeltsedaxib.fauvalricalbarsserockhighclaraloseth.co Wexler produces again but it's missing Mark Knopfler on this, the second in Dylan's Christian trilogy, the lyrics are too overtly preachy and it lacks any strong songs to hold the album up. I love a bit of Gospel but I don't think even Aretha or Ray could have saved these tunes.

These songs were as deeply personal and packed with poetics as any Dylan had ever written, but the force of conviction and power of faith evident in these.

  8. Saved is a much more aesthetically gratifying LP than its predecessor, particularly because of the hope (mostly musical, I admit) it offers that Dylan may eventually rise above the arid confines.
